Girnar Mountain is situated in the city of lions – Junagadh.

Lili Parikrama of Girnar, Junagadh is a very religious festival for lakhs of Devotees of Girnar Mountain which is also very popular among nature lovers, as pilgrims do parikrama around the girnar mountain and enjoys being in the lap of natural place’s king – Girnar Mountain.

History of Girnar Parikrama:

There are More Than 866 Hindu Temples and Jain Derasars in Girnar Mountain Range. Girnar Mountain is older than the Himalayas (Natives & many old writings says it Grandfather of Himalayas) and so being the very religious places for Hindu & Jain Devotees. In Mahabharata also it is said to be a Holy Place.

Aghoris & Saints choose Girnar to achieve the divine energy & “Moksha” . Today also there are thousands of those sadhus live in Girnar & does penance. These Sadhus only comes out every year during Shivratri Mela in Girnar Taleti Bhavnath & Then Disappers.

Let’s Not Take This blog on that point, will talk about that in some another blog because there are full books for that and can’t be explained in some words.

Since Thousnads of years Piligrims do Parikrama to feel the divine energy and achieve spiritual goals.

Girnar Parikrama Date & Time:

Every year Girnar Parikrama happens on Kartak Sud Agiyaras to Kartak Sud Poonam ( Dev Diwali ) as per Gujarati Calendar. Which usually comes in the winter season in the month of November -December.

For Girnar Parikrama 2024, expected dates are 12th November, 2024 (Tuesday) to 15th November, 2024 (Friday).

The total Parikrama route is 36km. Which takes one day for youngsters but for older people it takes 2 days. Nature lovers usually like to stay for 2 days in Girnar during Lili parikrama because this is the only time when the forest department permits public entrance in Girnar jungle full of wildlife including Asiatic Lions. You can also see lili parikrama event created on government site

Parikrama route details :

When parikrama route is 36 kilometers, Parikrama starts from Bhavnath & Last Place through which pilgrims pass is Bordevi.

Approximate distances between each place in Girnar Lili parikrama is,

Bhavnath’ to ‘Zina Bava Ni Madhi’ = 12 Kilometers
Zina Bava Ni Madhi’ to ‘Malvela’ = 8 Kilometers
Malvela’ to ‘Bordevi’ = 8 Kilometers
Bordevi’ to ‘Bhavnath’ = 8 Kilometers


In year 2020 due to Corona Pendamic, there was hold on the Girnar Parikrama because of Government Guidelines.

in year 2021 also There was news for other varients of covid could get active, as a result before few days government announced that Parikrama will be symbolic & held in the limit of 400 persons only & that also restricted to be done by saints and people permitted.

On the first day of Parikrama, due to thousands of people arrived to Taleti Area for Lili Parikrama & Afterwoeds Forest department allowed devotees to go in batch of 400 each.

After 2022 in 2023 also All Girnar Devotees, Nature Lovers, and Pilgrims are hoping to do Girnar Lili Parikrama in the same way as it was happening previously before Corona, and again the trio of devotion, nature & joy cheers in the lap of girnar.
